United Feather & Down receives Lifeline Award
United Feather and Down, headquartered at 414 East Golf Road in Des Plaines, products have been providing comfort to consumers for over two hundred years and recently the company's co-president Stephen Palmer received a Lifeline for a Lifetime award for the comfort and care he and his company have provided to aid those less fortunate in our country.
Presented by United Relief Foundation co-founders Frank Salato and Frank Slove, the Lifeline for a Lifetime award is an annual recognition given to an individual, organization or business that has demonstrated extraordinary involvement in the Foundation's humanitarian efforts.
“The Foundation is blessed to have so many caring and giving supporters, and choosing just one for a Lifeline for a Lifetime award is always challenging,” comments United Relief Foundation co-founder Frank Slove. “United Feather and Down made it possible for the Foundation to start our Project Restoring Hope to aid homeless veterans earlier then planned and their continue support will assist in our efforts to provide continual care, comfort and compassion to those veterans in need.”
According to the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans, the VA estimates that 107,000 veterans are homeless on any given night and about 1.5 million veterans are considered at risk of homelessness due to poverty, lack of support networks, and dismal living conditions in overcrowded or substandard housing. It is the mission of United Relief Foundation's Project Restoring Hope to aid in easing the suffering of these veterans
Founded in Europe two hundred years ago, United Feather and Down is a family-owned business with over seven generations of experience in the collecting, sorting and processing of fine natural fills.
Deerfield, Illinois based United Relief Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization formed in 2006 to provide humanitarian aid to ease human suffering within the United States.
