Hanover Park police searching for armed robber

Hanover Park police are searching for a man who held up a PL$ Loan Store Monday morning.

The man robbed the store on the 7300 block of Barrington Road about 10 a.m. before fleeing east across Barrington Road.

The incident comes just a week after a man was arrested on charges of shooting a clerk in the forehead while robbing a USA Pay Day Loans store located on the 7400 block of Barrington Road, a block away from the PL$ location.

The robber in Monday's case was last seen running behind businesses on the 1500 block of Irving Park Road.

He is described as a black man in his 20s, wearing a dark leather jacket, dark shirt and blue jeans, according to police. He is described as having a protruding upper lip and bad teeth.

No one was injured during the robbery.
