Scouting Seneca at Lisle
Seneca (3-3, 2-2) at Lisle (3-3, 3-1)
Game time: 7:15 p.m. Saturday, Benedictine University, Lisle
Last week: Seneca 51, Westmont 13; Lisle 28, Reed-Custer 0.
Last year: Seneca 33, Lisle 13
Outlook: Even having won three of its last four games Lisle is in a bind to reach the playoffs. The Lions finish against IEC Large foes Manteno and 5-1 Herscher and Saturday face a much-improved Seneca franchise featuring returning all-conference back Tyler Hovious, who ran 33 times for 327 yards against Westmont. Lisle defenders Terrance Allen, Pat Heatherly, Anthony Ventrella, Tim Saul and Robbie Dean who blasted the helmet off a Reed-Custer player will be tested to hold this Wing-T to Lisle's average of 197.6 yards against. Quarterback Nick Saul's offense has improved since Mitch McCarthy joined Ventrella in the backfield.
Next week: Sandwich at Seneca; Lisle at Manteno.
