Scouting Richmond-Burton at Hampshire

Richmond-Burton (6-0, 2-0) at Hampshire (1-5, 1-1)

When: Friday at 7 p.m. at Hampshire Athletic Field

Last year: Richmond-Burton 37, Hampshire 14

Last week: Burlington Central 48, Hampshire 6; Richmond-Burton 28, Marengo 7

Outlook: Hampshire tries to rebound from a hard-to-swallow thumping at the hands of rival Burlington Central, but the assignment is not an easy one against R-B, which enters Week 7 ranked No. 6 in Class 4A. The Rockets have won 7 of the last 9 meetings. "I give our guys a lot of credit because they've come back and practiced hard this week," Hampshire coach Dan Cavanaugh said. "That was a tough loss, but they just keep going at it even though they got pretty banged up last week. Richmond is very good. It's just going to be another tough, physical game like the ones we played against Stillman Valley and DeKalb." The Rockets are led by a trio of running backs Jake Dechow, Brandon Kinsella and Ryne Pearson who have combined to rush for 19 touchdowns and almost 1,700 yards."
