Elgin

- Federico Balderas, 20, of the 300 block of North Spring Street, Elgin, was charged with misdemeanor public indecency and disorderly conduct Thursday, for exposing and touching himself inside his car, police said. Police said the incident occurred in a grocery store parking lot in the 900 block of Liberty Street. A woman walking to the store passed Balderas' car at around 11 a.m. and reported the incident to police. She told them she had seen him doing the same thing once before in another location, police said. Balderas also was charged for lying to police about his name, police said. Bond was set at $7,000, but he is also being detained on an immigration hold, reports said. His next court date is Oct. 15. at the Elgin branch court.

- Someone threw a rock through the windshield of a 1996 Saturn in the 0-99 block of Airlite Street between 12:50 and 6:30 p.m. Thursday, reports said.

- A binder containing $750 to $1,200 of antique currency was reported stolen at 8:15 p.m. Thursday from a residence in the 800 block of South Liberty Street, reports said.

- Salvador Garcia-Hernandez, 21, of the 400 block of Sunset Drive, Elgin, was arrested and charged with reckless driving, no registration light, squealing tires, improper lane use, disobeying a police officer, and no insurance at 11:18 p.m. Thursday after police responded to the 0-99 block of Airport Road for reports of drag racing, reports said. Garcia-Hernandez is due in court on Nov. 1, reports said.

West Dundee

- Anna Wietoszko, 18, of the 100 block of Tay Drive, Carpentersville, was charged Thursday with possession of a controlled substance for having 0.4 grams of heroin, authorities said. Her bail was set at $3,000 and she is due in court Oct. 15 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
