Lincoln-Obama comparison off base

Donna Brazile's commentary, “Look to history to help save the American dream," on Oct. 5 is so far off base it needs a response.

How many Americans would agree that a comparison between President Lincoln and President Obama is even remotely possible? Yet that is exactly what this liberal Democrat has said.

She states, “Washington is gridlocked in 2010. It seems your party, the Democrats, have had the upper hand in Congress since 2006 and passed so many government-funded programs that we now face the biggest deficits in our history."

Ms. Brazile, you and others like you can't have it both ways. You admit the country voted for Obama “because he promised change you can count on. Today, we're disappointed he hasn't delivered better."

Your words!

So, any comparison between President Obama and President Lincoln can't be taken seriously. Better find a different comparison, one that compares with disappointments.
