Barrington school helps pet shelter
St. Anne's School in Barrington raised more than $1,000 last month to help Save A Pet in Grayslake.
“The children picked this charity once they heard that Save A Pet may have to close, said Vice Principal Donna Konie.
Each month the student council at St Anne School picks a charity to support.
Every student who would like to participate is asked to bring in 50 cents, but most bring in more.
“Typically we may raise around $400-$500 a month, but the children really felt strongly about this cause, “ said Konie.
