A call for a debate in the 9th District

The November election means a lot to me. Given the concerns about our country's future, I know it must mean a lot to you, too. The only hope we have to get past the sound bites and expensive advertising is to hear the candidates debate the issues. Joel Pollak, the challenger running for Congress in the 9th Congressional District, is up against the big money special interest incumbent Jan Schakowsky.

Jan Schakowsky refuses to debate. A forum is not a debate. Why is she denying the voters of the 9th District the right to get past advertising and actually hear the candidates debate the best way to move this country forward?

As a voter with strong family ties to the 9th District, I urge Ms. Schakowsky to meet her responsibility to the voters by accepting Joel Pollak's invitation to debate.
