Hanover Park offers CERT course

Beginning this month, Hanover Park will put on a Community Emergency Response Team course, a Federal Emergency Management Agency program that educates citizens about hazards and trains them in lifesaving skills.

The course meets from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesdays from Oct. 20 to Dec. 1 at village hall, 2121 W. Lake St. Training sessions include fire suppression, basic disaster medical operations, light search and rescue, disaster psychology, team organization and terrorism.
