Cops: Man shoots 3 in Ill., Ind.

Three men in Illinois and Indiana have been shot, one of them fatally, by a suspect who police say tried to talk to them about bees.

Pat Barry, spokesman for the Will County sheriff's department, says the man shot two construction workers at an unoccupied home Tuesday near Beecher.

One worker was wounded, and a second was killed. Barry says a third worker was able to escape into a cornfield.

After the shooting, Barry says the suspect fled in a 1990s pickup truck and crossed into Indiana, where a farmer was also shot and wounded.

Indiana authorities say the suspect and his vehicle matched the description of the Illinois shooter.

Barry says the man tried to talk to all three victims about bees.

The suspect is still at large.
