Take back Buffalo Grove by recalling Stone

For years, the Village of Buffalo Grove was a wonderful place, with a respected, responsible village government. The village had a budget surplus when other municipalities were in difficult economic  situations. It achieved one of the highest bond ratings available. It maintained award-winning police and fire services, while maintaining a relatively low tax rate. Buffalo Grove was listed as one of the best places to live in America.

But then in 2009 Lisa Stone was elected trustee, and suddenly Buffalo Grove was somehow no longer the great place it had been for years. Stone began to find fault with all those around her, including her fellow trustees, village employees and volunteers. She believed that she knew what was best for the village, and refused to work with those around her.

She refused to listen to other opinions, and attacked those who disagreed with her.  Soon, the village manager with 25 years of exemplary service, quit. Animosity and rude behavior took over board meetings. Stone showed that she did not understand simple procedure. The Board had to pass special rules to control Stone, just to accomplish its regular business. The village was no longer the wonderful place it once was.

But you can make a difference. You can bring back good, competent government like we used to have. Vote yes on Nov. 2 to recall Lisa Stone and remove her from office.  Take back our Buffalo Grove.
