BG residents: Use recall, dump Stone
On Nov. 2, the citizens of Buffalo Grove will have a unique opportunity to directly improve the future of the village by voting on a referendum question to recall Trustee Lisa Stone.
For the last 18 months, Lisa Stone has repeatedly shown that she is incapable and unworthy of holding the office of village trustee.
She has created controversies where none existed, such as claiming that an OTB facility would be a moral disaster for the village. She has accused many elected officials, employees and volunteers of incompetence and misdeeds, such as an attorney general's investigation of her colleagues that eventually found no wrongdoing.
She has railed for hours at board meetings about irrelevant matters, refusing to listen to facts contrary to her ideas, interrupting other speakers, and obviously not understanding how the village or its meetings work.
Most shocking of all, she has announced that she will knowingly break village rules when she believes it should be done. Buffalo Grove has become a laughingstock in local and national media as a result of Stone's behavior, and one major newspaper has openly called for her resignation.
Only the citizens of the village have the power to make a change. A vote for recall is a vote to return to the village we all love. Vote yes for recall for no more Stone.
