Bartlett Lions ask residents to help
For the past two years the Bartlett Lions Club has organized and delivered a complete holiday meal to local families who are in need of help. This year, even more of our residents likely will need help during the holiday season.
Last year, the Bartlett Lions procured four-pound smoked hams, mixed vegetables, potatoes, gravy, breakfast cereal, cake mix, frosting, hot chocolate, paper goods and more. Lions members then sorted and packed these items into boxes that were delivered to local schools and food banks.
The boxes were distributed to over 250 families, who were able to enjoy a complete and wholesome holiday meal, a meal otherwise beyond their financial means.
In 2010, the Bartlett Lions would like to expand this holiday tradition to as many families as possible and are seeking the help of Bartlett residents and local businesses who would like to help support our efforts. Donations of food (non-refrigerated) and paper products (napkins, toilet tissue, facial tissue) will be gratefully accepted and included in the holiday boxes.
To donate, please contact the Lions Club directly at (630) 375-7157 or bartlettlionsclub@yahoo.com.
Bartlett Lions Charities is a 501(c)(3), and tax-deductible donations will be used exclusively to support this year's undertaking. If you feel that you can contribute in any way please mail your donation (payable to Bartlett Lions Charities, Inc.) to: Bartlett Lions Charities, Inc., c/o N. Wetherton, 488 S.
