Motorcyclist killed in Kane County
A motorcyclist was killed early Saturday after he lost control of his bike and crashed into a guardrail on the Reagan Memorial Tollway in Kane County, Illinois State police said.
The motorcyclist, a 30-year-old man, was riding his 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle in the westbound lanes of I-88 near Big Rock when he veered from the road onto the left shoulder. He hit a guardrail and was thrown from the motorcycle. The man died of injuries suffered in the crash.
Illinois State police and Kane County Sheriff's Department officials responded to the scene at 11:18 a.m.
The man was pronounced dead at Delnor Hospital in Geneva, state police Master Sgt. Susan Ewald said.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing; police said they will not identify the man until his family is notified.
