Buffalo Grove homecoming gets wet, wild

All kinds of crazy stuff can happen at Homecoming, and at Buffalo Grove High School, the sophomore class has brought back the popular "Dunk a Teacher" after an absence of several years.

During lunchtime, students have an opportunity to dunk their "favorite" teachers.

Throughout Homecoming Week, spirit links and Bison T-shirts have been sold as a fundraising effort. The Student Council is trying to raise $2,500 to adopt a bison from the American Prairie Foundation, with the hope that Buffalo Grove's very own living "Bernie" will soon roam a large range in Montana.

Later today, the BGHS homecoming king and queen will be announced in the gymnasium. The varsity Homecoming football game against John Hersey High School kicks off at 7:30 p.m. tonight, following a 7 p.m. pre-game introduction of the Homecoming Court.

The Homecoming Dance, held in the gymnasium from 8-11 p.m. Saturday, will be the grand finale of the week's activities.
