Husband charged with murder in death of SW suburban teacher

ORLAND PARK -- The husband of a school teacher found shot to death in her Orland Park home has been charged with her murder.

Anita Kustok, the mother of former Northwestern quarterback Zak Kustok and Comcast SportsNet reporter Sarah Kustok, was killed with a single gunshot wound to the head.

The Cook County state's attorney's office announced Thursday that Allan Kustok has been charged with murder. Earlier, an autopsy by the Cook County medical examiner's office determined the shooting death of his wife was a homicide.

Orland Park police Cmdr. John Keating says police were told of the shooting by Palos Community Hospital officials. She was taken to the Palos Heights facility by a family member.

Keating would not say where the shooting occurred.

Authorities say the 58-year-old Kustok was a teacher at Central Elementary School in Riverside.
