Woman, 66, killed in Long Grove hit-and-run accident

Lake County Sheriff officials are looking for information regarding a fatal hit-and-run accident in Long Grove.

Sgt. Christopher Thompson said deputies were called to Route 53 and Route 83 in Long Grove at 12:38 a.m. for the hit and run accident involving a 66-year-old female pedestrian.

Thompson said the victim was found unresponsive in the outside northbound traffic lane of Route 83 at the intersection.

She was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville where she was pronounced dead, Thompson said.

Sheriff's officials will not release her identity until the victim's family is notified, Thompson said.
