Iowa QB Ricky Stanzi shines as senior

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Iowa quarterback Ricky Stanzi's career has often been defined by inconsistency, interceptions and incredible comebacks.

Stanzi is a lot less dramatic and a lot more productive as a senior.

The once-exasperating Stanzi has been as solid as they come for the 17th-ranked Hawkeyes (3-1), who open Big Ten play by hosting Penn State (3-1) on Saturday night.

Stanzi is 66-of-99 passing for 999 yards and nine touchdowns. He's also thrown just one interception this season after tossing 15 picks a year ago. Stanzi now ranks fifth in the nation in passing efficiency, which he credits to increased patience and experience.
