Illini's Scheelhaase feels lucky facing Ohio State
CHAMPAIGN -- Illinois quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase talks about the opportunity the Illini will have Saturday like someone who's just won a prize in the lottery.
Of course, his jackpot might not thrill most people.
Scheelhaase and Illinois (2-1) host No. 2 Ohio State (4-0).
The redshirt freshman quarterback on Tuesday sounded genuinely pleased he'll get a chance to face the Buckeyes in his first Big Ten game.
Illinois head coach Ron Zook says his team will face that opportunity without one and possibly more key players.
Cornerback and return man Terry Hawthorne remains out with a leg injury. Zook said he doesn't know yet whether linemen Hugh Thornton and Michael Buchanan will play after off-field problems.
