Forum on state budget reformIllinois state Rep. Keith Farnham, a Democrat who represents the 43rd District, will host a community forum about state budget reform at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30 in Meeting Room 1 at the Gail Borden Library, 270 N. Grove Ave., Elgin. Farnham, who faces a challenge from Republican and former state Rep. Ruth Munson, will discuss implementing a performance-based budgeting system for the state that is similar to those used by businesses.Want to run for Huntley village trustee?Those interested in seeking election to the Huntley village board in the April 5, 2011 election may pick up petition packets now at the Municipal Complex, 10987 Main St. Petition filing will begin at 8 a.m. Dec. 13 and will close at 5 p.m. on Dec. 20. For more details, call Village Clerk Rita McMahon at (847) 515-5216.Open trustee seatThe Dundee Township Public Library has an open trustee position on the library board for someone who lives in the district and is willing to attend regularly scheduled monthly meetings. The term expires in May 2013. Applicants should submit a letter of interest to Library Director Roxane Bennett at rbennett@dundeelibrary.info by 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1.
