Palatine High Homecoming features spirited Spirit Week

Palatine High School has the following festivities planned for Homecoming 2010:

• The annual Royal Rally, which includes crowning of the king and queen, will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7 in the school's main gymnasium, 1111 N. Rohlwing Road in Palatine. The court will parade around the field at halftime of the varsity football game on Friday, Oct. 8.

• "Harry Potter: A Hogwarts Homecoming" Homecoming Dance will be held 7:30-10:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, in the school gymnasium. Tickets for the dance will be sold Oct. 5-8 outside the cafeteria during lunch periods. Tickets also may be purchased at the door the night of the dance with a slight cost increase.

• Spirit Week runs Oct. 4-8, which involves dress-up participation during the school day with each day of the week having a different theme for students and staff to follow.
