Kitchen tour will benefit homeless families
Eight Glen Ellyn kitchens will be open from noon to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, to benefit Bridge Communities, which partners with area religious organizations and community groups to help homeless families in DuPage County.
The ticket also purchases a gourmet reception at Drury Design, 512 N. Main St., from 5 to 8 p.m. Tickets are available at Drury and at Baird & Warner Real Estate, 543 Pennsylvania Ave. Advance tickets cost $25, which represents the cost of providing food and services for one homeless person per night. Tickets are $35 on the day of the event. For information visit kitchenwalk.org
Treats at Drury for the Afterwalk include burnt tomato crostini, spicy bacon brittle, pumpkin ravioli and herb and panko encrusted steak bites.
Bonnie Sherwood of Exemplar Design and Minneci Builders created this kitchen that will be open Oct. 1.
