Rant against GOP was way off base
In response to John Morgan's rant about Republicans, here is a rant about Democrats. In doing a bit of profiling on my own, I've come to the conclusion that Mr. Morgan is an elitist without a clue. Likely a tenured educator or an unemployed cabdriver. I don't think his ideology is advanced by making ridiculous statements - but then, in the view of many, simply saying Barack Obama is a ridiculous statement.
The "Republican" he refers to may not be a Republican at all. Patriot may be a better term for the concerned citizen with traditional moral values who wants the country to return to the Constitution and the republic form of government that made our country great. And the tea party, which our intellectual friend suggests is a political party, is not one at all. It is a place where patriots congregate to demonstrate their love for their country and to declare political war on the Congress that seems hellbent on destroying it.
Morgan missed his opportunity for credibility when he played his George Bush card. I was just waiting for the timeworn slogan, "Bush lied, kids died." I hate to tell you this, John, but nobody cares about that anymore. What we do care about is that your man, whether he was born on the moon or anywhere else, is pushing our country in the wrong direction with reckless spending and needs to be stopped.
But the ignorant masses - made up of average Americans who are willing to work hard to better themselves and don't believe in handouts - still make up the majority in this country, and I think you will see that in the coming election. It may not be the cure Mr. Morgan wants, but it will be the cure this country needs.
