COD doesn't need more money
As a longtime resident and taxpayer of Glen Ellyn, I have been holding my tongue for some time now over the 'sign' issue between the village of Glen Ellyn and the College of DuPage.
It certainly appears that COD must have an incredible amount of extra money in its coffers if it can afford to risk it by buying and installing these signs before they had village approval. They were obviously sure that once they were installed they could bully their way around the village code.
Of course, they have to conform to code, just like any other business or private residence does. Arrogant is an understatement. It was recently published that COD was hiring a firm to help them map a strategy to win over the community concerning their new bond issue. More money spent ... they apparently just have too much of it. I'm considering forming my own committee (without a bond issue) to convince the community that COD doesn't really need this new bond issue passed. They have proven by their actions that they do not need any further funding.
