Marmion-Rosary fundraiserThe Marmion-Rosary Music Boosters are hosting their annual Fay's Barbecue fundraiser from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Marmion Academy, 1000 Butterfield Road, Aurora. The fundraiser is takeout only with a drive-through option. Tickets are $12 and a choice of pork chops or chicken. It is recommended that tickets be purchased in advance by calling Marian at (630) 968-5135. A limited number of tickets will be available for purchase at the door.Stroll through preservesParents and grandparents are invited to relaxed walks on stroller-friendly trails with the Kane County Forest Preserve District's "Nature by Stroller" program. Naturalist Erica Lemon will lead guided strolls on Friday at Dick Young Forest Preserve, 39W115 Main St. in Batavia. On Oct. 15 they will meet at Fitchie Creek Forest Preserve, 39W933 Russell Road, near Elgin. New York St., Aurora. The celebration will include raffles, wine and cheese tasting, beer and drink specials and a pub scavenger hunt. There will also be live music. For more information, go to tcmottc.org or call (630) 375-7511.Rabies vaccinationThe Kane County Animal Control Department will conduct a rabies vaccination clinic from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Kane County Animal Control Facility, 4060 Keslinger Road in Geneva. The vaccinations will be for dogs and cats only. Fees are $15 for rabies vaccine and $10 for the county rabies tag. The tag is free for those 65 and older. Microchipping will be available for $15.
