Bizarre hit-and-run under investigation

Deerfield police are investigating a report of a woman's string of unusual crimes starting with public indecency and ending with a hit-and-run accident.

Security guards at Takeda Pharmaceuitcals said they were watching surveillance cameras when they saw a woman drive into the company's parking lot, get out of the car and defecate and urinate on company property, according to police.

Two guards drove to the lot and pulled behind the woman's 2002 red Jeep Liberty to block her in, but she reversed into the car and took off to the Lake-Cook Road exit of the company, located at 1 Takeda Parkway.

The woman sped out of the lot and blew through two red lights on the way to Interstate 294, security guards told police.

The incident occurred about 6:20 a.m. Sept. 13.

Police are reviewing company surveillance tapes but have not made an arrest.
