Ladies Auxiliary's penny social to support local charities

The Carpentersville Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5915 will hold its annual Penny Social on Wednesday, Sept. 22 at the Tri-City Evergreen VFW post home, 117 S. First St. in West Dundee. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. They will start calling numbers at 7 p.m.

The Ladies Auxiliary is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the veterans and the community. The penny social is the largest fundraiser of the year. The proceeds help to further the organization's goals such as donating to the local police department, fire department, Little League, Boys and Girls Club, Community Crisis Center, American Cancer Society Society, as well as bringing flags to local schools and supporting scholarship programs.

Come for a night of fun, many table prizes and door prizes plus refreshments will be served and everyone is welcome.
