Health insurance remains elusive

I am writing this to express my disappointment in health insurance. I was recently laid off last February. I have been employed on a temporary basis since June, but without health insurance. I am a single mom of a 4-year-old and struggling to make ends meet.

I was eligible for state-funded programs being unemployed, but now that I am working I am no longer eligible for these programs. My son was able to receive health benefits through All Kids, but then I was denied and told that I made $43 too much to qualify. I then applied to Access to Care, "pink card" and Illinois pre-existing insurance. I am waiting to hear back on the pre-existing insurance coverage but was denied coverage under the pink card and Access to Care based on my income. I make $19 and hour.

President Obama can you please tell me where I can get health insurance and be able to afford it? I'm seriously considering moving to Europe.
