Elginbull; Gemma Gomez, 31, of the 600 block of Jefferson Street, was charged with home invasion and criminal trespass to a residence this week; police said she forced her way into a home in the 1100 block of Sherwood Avenue on Monday and punched a woman there in the face and body. Her bail was set Thursday at $100,000 and she is due in court Sept. 23 and could spend between six and 30 years if found guilty on the home invasion charge, a report said.bull; A pink Coach wallet containing $550 was stolen between 8 and 10:30 p.m. Wednesday from a vehicle in the 200 block of East Chicago Street, reports said. bull; Alejandra V. Ruelas, 44, of the 1200 block of Rosewood Court, Elgin, was arrested and charged with retail theft at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, reports said. She is accused of stealing $82.70 worth of cosmetics, shampoo and pain relievers from Walmart, 1001 N. Randall Road, and is due in court on Oct. 22, reports said.Carpentersvillebull; Pedro Ramirez-Ortega, 27, of the 6000 block of Hampton Circle, faces two charges of felony aggravated battery alleging he stabbed a man in the left thigh with a pocket on Sept. 7, authorities said. His bail was set Thursday at $35,000 and he is due in court Sept. 30. Aggravated battery is a Class 3 felony with a prison sentence ranging between two and five years.
