EU extends review of Unilever, Sara Lee deal

The European Commission extended by four days its review of Unilever's acquisition of Sara Lee Corp.'s shower-gel and European detergents business.

The deadline for a ruling is now Oct. 26, the commission said on its website today.

It didn't specify the reason for the extension.

Sara Lee is based in Downers Grove.
