Provena St. Joseph welcomes new hospital president
Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin welcomed its new president and CEO Wednesday.
Steve O. Scogna was appointed in August to fill a vacancy created after William Brown left.
Scogna, who had served on the board of directors for three years and has 25 years of health care experience, took the reins during a commissioning ceremony Wednesday at the hospital.
Scogna said he is honored that the hospital has put so much trust in him, having spent three-quarters of his life working in a Catholic hospital environment.
"The community embraced me," Scogna said. "It just makes it very special."
