Firefighters at condominium blaze in Round Lake

Firefighters from Round Lake responded to a condominium fire Tuesday afternoon that left the residency gutted, officials from the Round Lake Area Fire Protection District said.

The department received a call for the working fire about 2 p.m. at 341 W. Treehouse Lane, near Route 134 in Round Lake. Initial crews on the scene reported heavy smoke and fire coming from the back of the building.

No one was injured in the fire, which started in an attached garage, officials said.

The fire spread to adjacent units, but did not leave them uninhabitable.

Investigators are continuing their investigation, but do not know how the fire started.

It's unclear at this time if there are any injuries, and officials do not know the cause of the blaze.
