Algonquin Commons thinking Halloween

Whether it's going to scare or surprise, it's not too early to start thinking up this year's Halloween costume.

In fact the folks at Algonquin Commons already are busy planning an event for the weekend before Halloween, where you can wear that fabulous costume.

On Sunday, Oct. 24, they're hosting a Halloween Extravaganza Party for costumed kiddos of all ages.

The party runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. that day, and is free and open to the public.

The Radio Disney Road Crew will be on hand for the party, and there will be many fun events for the family.

They'll be hosting a costumed conga line, where you're sure to need that costume you're putting together.

They'll also have games at the party, including Wrap Up Your Mummy.

At the party, you can enter to win several prizes, and spin the AC Prize Wheel.

Some of the prizes you can enter to win are tickets to the Chicago Lights Festival, a vacation at the Wilderness Resort and an Abigail Breslin Autographed American Girl Doll Kit.

There also will be gift cards to the Randall Road outdoor mall ready for the winning.

Following the party, at 1 p.m., Algonquin Commons will once again host its mall-wide trick or treat event.

Costumed kiddos can go from store to store with their Halloween treat bags, collecting numerous goodies.

Hundreds of families flock to the event each year, which is a safe way for children to trick or treat.

Store employees usually stand in the doorways throughout the mall, handing out the candy to each of the costumed characters that walk by.

Sometimes there are even treats for adults, including coupons or free samples.
