Elk Grove man charged with sexual assault

A Cook County judge set bond at $100,000 Monday for William Rouse, of the 200 block of Trowbridge Road. Rouse, who has no felony convictions, has been charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault, a class X felony that carries a possible sentence of six to 30 years in prison.

The complaining witness told police that she was hanging out with Rouse and his wife at their home Saturday, said a spokeswoman for the Office of the Cook County State's Attorney.

The spokeswoman said that after the wife retired for the evening, the defendant threatened the complaining witness and sexually assaulted her, muffling her cries with a pillow.

The woman fled the house and was found in a fetal position at the corner of Devon and Arlington Heights roads by a Good Samaritan, the spokeswoman said.
