N. Illinois coach Kill remains hospitalized

Northern Illinois football coach Jerry Kill is listed in fair condition at the Chicago hospital where he was taken over the weekend for dehydration.

The 49-year-old coach was admitted to Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb early Sunday, just hours after his team won its home opener against North Dakota 23-17. Kill later was transferred to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, where he remains hospitalized Tuesday.

NIU President John Peters says the university is closely monitoring Kill's situation and that he's receiving the best of medical care.

It isn't clear if Kill will be available for Northern Illinois' game on Saturday at Illinois.
