Teen dies after night of partying at Ball State
MUNCIE, Ind. -- Authorities say an 18-year-old Indiana University freshman died after a night of partying with friends at Ball State University.
Delaware County Coroner Jim Clevenger says Jarrod Polston of Greenwood vomited while unconscious, which blocked his airway, and that others in the room were unaware anything was wrong with him until they woke up Saturday.
Clevenger tells The Star Press that investigators believe Polston passed out about 3 a.m. Saturday inside a dorm room in Studebaker West. An autopsy Sunday showed Polston had consumed alcohol and methadone, but Clevenger is awaiting test results to show those levels.
Polston was a 2010 graduate of Center Grove High School, where he was a wide receiver on the football team.
