Quincy man's body found in river

QUINCY -- Authorities say a man whose found near a lock and dam by the Mississippi River city of Quincy appears to have been the victim of a boating accident.

Fifty-nine-year-old Richard Hively of Quincy was found dead Sunday morning by workers flushing out parts of the dam.

Hively was reported missing Friday after he did not return from fishing on the river. His boat trailer and truck were found in a park along the river.

Adams County Coroner Gary Hamilton says the death appears to be a boating accident, and an autopsy was planned.

Quincy and Illinois state police took part in the search, along with Quincy firefighters, state conservation workers and the region's emergency volunteer corps.
