Police probe drug use in death of couple
GRANITE CITY -- Investigators are suspecting drug use caused the weekend deaths of a couple found dead in their southwestern Illinois home.
The bodies of 21-year-old Joshua Morgan and 18-year-old Amber Morgan were found Saturday in their upstairs apartment by a relative checking on their well-being.
Police say there were no signs of wrongdoing or trauma to the bodies.
Initial autopsy results were inconclusive, and toxicology tests are pending.
Granite City police Major Jeff Conner says initial investigating suggests the deaths were drug-related, and that no outside involvement is suspected.
The couple have a 4-month-old daughter.
