Cut taxes, then hire, hire, hire
I have to wonder about 49th state House candidate Jennifer Barconi's idea for bringing jobs to Illinois, as stated Aug. 31 in the Daily Herald. She wants to rely on marketing, while Tim Schmitz wants to reduce taxes on businesses.
A glossy brochure with a picture of the Fox River isn't going to bring jobs to Kane County. It's plain as day. Apparently Barconi doesn't understand that big businesses relocate for one reason: to improve the bottom line. Why would a business want to move to Illinois just to pay our high taxes?
Schmitz has it right. Cut the taxes, entice businesses to relocate to Illinois and hire, hire, hire. Then we'll begin to dig out of the mess Rod Blagojevich, Mike Madigan and their Democrat cronies have put us in.
