Bataviabull; A 20-inch gray, black and red BMX bicycle was stolen Wednesday or Thursday in the 200 block of Blair Street, police said.bull; Marta W. Forde, 41, of the 600 block of Spring Street in Geneva, was arrested on several charges at 2:43 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of West Wilson Street, according to a police report. She is charged with possession of a controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; retail theft; driving while her license was suspended, revoked or canceled; and failure to obey a traffic-control device. As of Friday afternoon, she was being held on $100,000 bail in the Kane County jail and needs to pay $10,000 to be released. Police did not specify what the drugs were, nor what was stolen and from where.bull; Two people were arrested Thursday at the Batavia Police Department on warrants charging them with retail theft. Police said Alexander C. Kochno, 27. of 1121 Woodcrest Drive in Downers Grove, was processed at 4:57 p.m. He posted $2,500 bond. Rebecca F. Cozzi, 40, of the 3700 Gunderson Ave., Berwyn, was processed at 5:38 p.m. She posted $1,000 bond. Both are accused of stealing two birds from the Bird is the Word store, 30 S. Shumway Ave. The department has two warrants outstanding for two other people believed to be involved in the theft. Meanwhile, St. Charles police Friday obtained arrest warrants for retail theft for Kochno; Cozzi; and Erik Zalkus and Viviana Rossi Zalkus, both of 3700 Gunderson Ave., Berwyn, in connection with the Aug. 31 theft of some sugar gliders from Critters Pet Shop, 1437 W. Main St. Police say they distracted the sole employee on duty while taking the small marsupials, which are native to Australia and Indonesia. The sugar gliders were worth $300 apiece.Kane Countybull; Phillip Robbin, 41, of the 4100 block of Highland Avenue, Downers Grove, was arrested on a charge of cannabis possession in a traffic stop at 9:53 a.m. Tuesday at North Farnsworth Avenue and Molitor Road near Aurora, according to a police report. Police said Robbin was pulled over after an officer checked his license plate number and found two active warrants for his arrest. When he was patted down, police said, authorities found 6.4 grams of cannabis in a bag in his right front pants pocket. bull; A South Elgin-area woman told police she was scammed out of nearly $200 Tuesday by a man claiming to work for Comcast. The man arrived at the woman's home on the 06N900 block of Elgin Street about 4:30 p.m. and told her he was there to collect her account balance of $193.35, according to a police report. The woman told police the man wore a photo badge that identified him as a Comcast employee and was carrying a "Comcast field collection receipt" with her name and personal information on it. The woman said she contacted Comcast after writing a check to the man and was told that Comcast field workers do not collect payments. She described the man as white, about 35 years old, 5-foot-8, 250 pounds, and bald. He was last seen wearing a blue polo shirt and driving a brown, older model four-door car, possibly a Ford Taurus.bull; A double-pane window and a door light were reported damaged Tuesday at a rental property on the 3N800 block of Route 31, near St. Charles, according to a police report. Police said it appeared a lawn chair was used to cause the damage.
