Elginbull; A parole check by Elgin police resulted in them arresting one on drug charges and seizing more than 2.5 pounds of marijuana, police said. Cristan Garza, 32, of the 0-99 block of Garden Crescent, Elgin, was arrested at 10:45 a.m. Thursday in the 0-99 block of Garden Crescent and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and intent to deliver, authorities said. Police spokeswoman Sue Olafson said officers were conducting a parole compliance check and smelled pot smoke coming from Garza's bedroom. Olafson said police seized 1,176 grams of pot, which is equivalent to 2.65 pounds, and has a street value of $7,000. Garza's bond was set at 10 percent of $125,000 and he is due in court on Sept. 30, reports said.bull; Two laptop computers, one an HP and the other an IBM Lenovo, were stolen sometime Wednesday from a home in the 200 block of Lessenden Place, reports said.bull; Someone broke open the rear door of a residence in the 100 block of North Aldine Avenue between 1:15 and 1:30 p.m. Thursday, stealing a 42-inch television and jewelry and ransacking bedrooms, reports said. Harris, 32, of the 100 block of Stirling Lane, Schaumburg, was arrested and charged with retail theft of $23 worth of merchandise at 6:21 p.m. Thursday from Meijer, 815 S. Randall Road, reports said. She is due in court on Sept. 24.East Dundeebull; Davaris A. Washington, 22, and April L. Shaw, 25, both of the 0-99 block of Oxford Drive, Carpentersville, were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and possession of a firearm and ammunition without a Firearm Owners Identification card after a traffic stop at 11:25 p.m. Thursday on Route 25, north of Route 72, authorities said. East Dundee Police Chief Terry Mee said police seized 116 grams of marijuana after the traffic stop, along with a 9 mm handgun and ammunition from Shaw's purse. Bond for Washington was set at 10 percent of $40,000 and bond for Shaw is 10 percent of $50,000. They are both due in court on Sept. 17, authorities said.
