Quinn gets backing of firefighters union
Gov. Pat Quinn has picked up union support from firefighters in his November election bid.
Quinn received the backing Thursday of the Associated Fire Fighters of Illinois and the Chicago Firefighters IAFF Local No. 2.
According to its website, the Associated Fire Fighters of Illinois represents local unions covering more than 15,000 working and retired firefighters.
Quinn and his Republican opponent, state Sen. Bill Brady, are each racking up endorsements in their Nov. 2 contest.
Earlier this week, the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police backed Brady.
Quinn and Brady are locked in a heated race that also includes other candidates.
