Comcast dusting off classics from 'The Sports Writers on TV'
Comcast SportsNet Chicago goes forward into the past -- and into the library of its forerunners going back to SportsChannel and beyond -- by reviving classic episodes of "The Sports Writers on TV" on a weekly basis starting at 11 tonight. While it will be the sports of yesteryear they're talking about, the reruns will be timed to suit the season. Main panelists are, of course, Bill Gleason, Ben Bentley, Bill Jauss and Rick Telander.
'iCarly' gets LynchedFresh off her Emmy Award for "Glee," Jane Lynch turns up on "iCarly" this week as Sam's never-before-seen mother. The episode "iSam's Mom" debuts at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, on Nickelodeon, with Miranda Cosgrove as the title character and Jennette McCurdy as her best friend and Internet sidekick Sam.HBO on Channel 9WGN Channel 9 picks up scrubbed-clean reruns of the HBO series "Entourage" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm" starting Monday. Sept. 13. The loutish "Entourage" airs at 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and Larry David's "Enthusiasm" runs at 11:30 p.m. Sunday through Friday. If only the order were reversed on weeknights, so that "Enthusiasm" didn't conflict with Craig Ferguson's monologue on "The Late Late Show" on CBS' WBBM Channel 2.He said he'd be backHe might have made more money on other movies, but for sheer conceptual genius James Cameron has never topped "The Terminator." A man and a killer robot from the future go back to the present (1980s present) to battle over the future leader of humans in their inevitable war with machines. Arnold Schwarzenegger is so good in the title role, they had to bring him back as a good guy for the sequel. It's at 11 p.m. today on AMC.
