Antioch's Gofron earns another Walleye crown
Hats off to Antioch walleye pro Mike Gofron.
This determined tournament fisherman recently won the 2010 Anglers Insight Marketing Walleye Championship.
He adds that to a long list of accomplishments, including the PWT Championship and another AIM top place spot.
• Sign of the season in northern Minnesota: "3-lbs of wild rice for $9.95."
Fox Chain: And speaking of muskies, there is greatly improved muskie action on the Chain, with some decent releases on Lake Catherine and Bluff Lake. Walleye activity continues to get better, especially where anglers find slightly faster current. Crappies are doing fine on Bluff and Petite lakes.
Fox River: Look for some of the better smallie action right on the shorelines in Batavia and Geneva. Walleyes starting to show up again just below the McHenry Dam.
Deep Lake: Excellent bluegill and crappie activity on the west shoreline.
Lake Michigan: Some "fresh" king salmon being taken right outside Waukegan Harbor. Shore action for kings has started in Chicago. The perch action is slow but some fish are being taken off the Horseshoe in Chicago.
