Support our troops, fly the flag
After the events of Sept. 11, 2001, many Americans took to flying their flags in support of those we lost that day and in support of our country's fight against terrorism. Today we still fight that battle against terrorism, but with so many of our brave men and women overseas fighting to defend our freedoms and our way of life.
I find it disheartening that so few people anymore fly their flag on holidays, let alone every day of the year. My son Eric is with the 101st Airborne and fights that fight. My neighbors and I got together to show our support for him, his squad, all our troops and our country by flying our flags and taking a picture to send to their camp in Afghanistan.
Won't you please decide to do something to support our troops? Fly your flag. Send a letter to a serviceman/woman that you know - or don't know. Send a care package to one of the Forward Operating bases.
Thank you and may God continue to bless America!
