Antioch craft fair makes its return this weekend

Fall's on the way, and that means it's time for Antioch's annual Fall Arts and Crafts Faire.

The event, set for this weekend, will feature more than 140 booths of handcrafted goods from Illinois and across the country.

Admission is free.

Creations made of wood, metal and ceramics will be on display. Clothes, candles, jewelry, photography, purses and paintings will be for sale, too, as well as holiday-season crafts.

The show will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday in the downtown area, around the intersection of Toft and Orchard streets.

The event is organized by the Antioch Chamber of Commerce.

Free parking will be available throughout the downtown area, both on streets and behind the local shops.

The fall event is one of four arts and crafts fairs the village hosts every year.

The winter fair is scheduled for January 2011.

The next spring show is set for May 2011.

The next summer show will be in June 2011.

Exact dates haven't been set yet.

To exhibit at a future show, send an application to the Antioch Chamber of Commerce, 882 Main St., Antioch, Ill., 60002. Applications will be available at antiochchamber.org, but they are not yet ready.

Online applications will not be accepted.
