Employment workshop:The village of Round Lake Beach and the Round Lake Area Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring free employment workshops and resume reviews from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9. The event to be held at the Cultural Civic Center on Hook Drive near Route 83 features more than 25 booths with job search resource information and businesses accepting applications. Speakers will provide information to assist in the job search. The workshop includes job search tips and resources, networking essentials and resume writing. It includes traveler information from southern Wisconsin through northern Illinois and northern Indiana into southwestern Michigan. The site covers about 1,570 roadway miles across 51 counties in the four states. It includes current travel times, as well as congestion, incident, construction, special event and weather information. There is also a traffic map with pan/zoom features and travel time alerts.Stroke survivors support:Stroke survivors and their families can find support and vital information through the new Stroke Survivors support group forming at Advocate Condell Medical Center. Led by Advocate Condell's stroke coordinator, Diane Goodman, the first meeting is 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 21 at Condell's Conference Center, 700 Garfield Ave., Libertyville.
