Kent to lead pharmacists

EVANSTON - Stanley S. Kent of Gurnee has been elected as the president-elect for the American Society of Health System Pharmacists. Kent is assistant vice president of pharmacy services at NorthShore University HealthSystem in Evanston.

His society service includes membership on the council on legal and public affairs, the commission on credentialing, the board of directors, and faculty member for the organization's leadership academy. He is a past president of the Wisconsin Society of Health System Pharmacists and received the Pharmacist of the Year award from the Illinois Council of Health System Pharmacists.

Kent's term beings immediately and run to June 2011 when he will be installed as president for a one-year term. For more than 60 years, the society has helped pharmacists improve medication use and enhance patient safety. It has 35,000 members.
