Scouting Warren at Highland Park
Warren (0-1) at Highland Park (0-1)
When: 7 p.m. today, Wolters Field
Last week: Warren lost to New Trier, 10-7; Highland Park lost to Stevenson, 42-7.
Skinny: Warren's offense and, in particular, its running game looks to get going after being stymied in its season opener. New Trier limited Blue Devils running back Tom Lindal to just 35 yards on 13 carries, although Nolan Sordyl did rush for 93 yards on 12 attempts. Warren faces a Highland Park squad that struggled in all three phases Opening Night in spotting Stevenson a 42-0 lead after three quarters. Stevenson's 6 touchdowns included 4 on runs, 1 on a pass and 1on a kickoff. The Giants are a proud program, having gone 7-4 last year under first-year coach Hal Chiodo. They've been to the state playoffs seven straight years and eight times in the last nine.
