Scouting North Chicago at Maine West

Last week: North Chicago lost to Marian Central Catholic 56-12; Maine West lost to Wheeling 19-13

Outlook: Maine West had opportunities last week but coach Chris Hare said "we can't beat ourselves." North Chicago, in its second year under coach Glen Kozlowski, was outgained 380-115 last week but Darryl Pearson is one of the threats to contend with as he caught a 64-yard TD pass. "The bottom line is they have great speed and great size," Hare said. "We have to go back to making them run laterally. We have to sustain long drives and keep their playmakers off the field." Jezz Buluran made a big play last week for Maine West with an 89-yard TD on the opening kickoff and QB Ziggy Krycka had a 77-yard TD run.
